I have a 2-story home project in which the upper roof carries down to the lower roof at the back of the house. I want to show a '1st floor roof plan', but where the view range is set to the second floor line so it shows the lower roof, the eaves from the upper roof are showing. I've tried using the filter tool to shut one of the roofs off, but I can't seem to get it to work....obviously I'm missing something. I can't find a comfortable point with a plan region to accomplish what I would like to see here.

Anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hey there,
I ran into this same type of problem once, on a little office building that had a similar roof condition.
I just added a new "Phase" after New Construction. Then used the phase overrides to control how the different views looked.

The other option may be by using Design Options. Just make the upper roof an option.

Hope this helps maybe
Good luck

Using scope boxes may also be an option.

Filter should work. What I do is place a word in the comment field and filter roofs for comment = that word. Quick and dirty but it works. I filter out all the basement walls and doors in a foundation plan that way. Saves lots of hassle.

Thanks guys!

I'll probably opt to play around with the phasing idea. I have 2 permenant design options for this house anyway as it is for use in a tract project, so I'd hate to confuse myself with another option. The phase seems like a reasonable resolution. Thanks again.

I created a new phasing category called visibility phase. I assigned the upper roof to this phase. I set up a new filter so that it would not display this phase when needed and also adjusted the other filters to show this phase when needed. In any case, I cannot get this roof to show up when this phase is assigned to it??? Any ideas. What am I doing wrong.

edit: I also tried moving this phase to both the past and future sides of the new construction phase to see if this changed anything and it did not.
