Is there a way to determine how much a view has been rotated (by selecting the crop region) except by referencing objects whose angle relative to true north/project north is known? If not, shouldn't this be a setting in the view's properties dialog?

Can't you draw a vertical/horizontal element in a non-rotated view, go to a rotated view and do the same at this object's endpoint and place an angular dimension between the two?
Granted though that it would be easier if there was a view parameter that you can just re-set to zero.

Yes, that's what i meant by "referencing objects..l". I just find it starts getting confusing, what with project north/true north setting plus an "unknown" rotation angle. I may post this as a wishlist item...
