Hi everyone, I just joined AUGI today. I am an Interior Design Student, and have just started CAD this semester. One of my assignments this week is to interview a current CAD user. Anyone interested? Just a few questions about your profession...

Interview Questions:

1. Name, location, profession
2. When do you use CAD in the production process (ie preliminary design, design development, etc)
3. Types of standardization you use?
4. Advantages/disadvantages that CAD brings to your practice?

Hi "ckdesign"

Please note I have *moved* this thread from the New Forum Users (Non technical) (http://forums.augi.com/forumdisplay.php?f=47) forum to this one, as I feel this particular forum is a more appropriate place for such a topic.

Thanks, Mike

Interview Questions:

1. Name, location, profession
Robert Hall, Warren, Product Design Engineer Automotive
2. When do you use CAD in the production process (ie preliminary design, design development, etc)
preliminary quoting/planning, prototype creation, design changes, and
final production specifications
3. Types of standardization you use?
None. Developed my own cad standard. The standard will keep a
commonized method for completing each project.
4. Advantages/disadvantages that CAD brings to your practice?
Highlights critical design criteria and opportunities for error on a project.
Errors can be prevented before beginning to spend capital on a project.
