cost parameters

I'm trying to develope a cost per SF or area for a each floor type in a project.
At the properties level of each floor, under the parameter 'Cost', I have tried to add the formular of dollars * area or dollars * SF. Revit give me an error of, only constant expressions are allowed.
Can anyone help me from here?

You need to convert you SF to a number with something like (Area /12) * Cost. Revit can't multiply SF with $
There is a lot of thread about that

Revit is still reporting an error with the work "Area"
Go to Floor properties of a floor, Type Properties, Cost and try your formular.

You need to add a calculated Value in your Schedule.

The values in the Properties are strickly unit costs!!

You extract the total costs in the schedule with a formula.
