Hi Everyone,

I'm a new user to ABS and to the User Group as well. I have a simple question to start off. How can I display the centerline of pipe and or Ducts. I remember in ABS 2006 there was a box I could check off in the Display Manager. But I couldn't seem to find it in the 2007 version. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

First, Welcome to AUGI! :)

ABS comes out-of-the-box (OOTB) with quite a few display representations that show the duct and pipe centerline. My first suggestion would be to try some of these to see if there is one that will work for you. If your not sure how to change display representations just look on the lower right hand side of your screen and you'll see a pull down with your options (see attached).

If none of these will give you the look you're looking for post back and I'll step you through modifying one of your display representations to get the look you want.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the welcome and thanks for the reply! I played around with those display representations before I made my original post. No luck. The centerlines don't show up no matter which display representation I tried.

Hi.

Have you tried to click on a pipe, rigth click and go to edit pipe style.

Here you go to display properties and click on edit display properties. Here you Tieck if the centerline is turned off. See if that helps for starters. Next you have to do the same with the fittings.

Thanks Claus. That worked. But there must be a way to set this up before you start drawing so that all the centerlines appear as you draw, instead of modifying each pipe & fitting as you draw. How can this be done?

Off course there is. This was just a quick way to see if that was the problem.

You open your template so the fixes will permanently forward.

Then you go to Format - Style manager and you choose Piping Objects and Pipe System Def.

Here you pick one of the systems, doesn´t matter which one because it´s style based, and you don´t wing of the style override.

Now you do What you did before, go to display properties and turns on the centerline.

Every time you now use your template, the pipes will appear with a centerline.

Do this on your Duct as swell.

Remember to save your template.
