Area Plans not tagging

Anyone seen a situation where some Areas will tag and others won't? We have a pretty complex model, and the user is telling me there is little rhyme or reason to the ones that don't. Of course we know that probably isn't true, but at this point I have no idea what to look for.
So, anyone have a recommendation on where to start looking?

"Areas" and "Area Boundaries" are associated with the workset that they are placed on. So I would check the VG of your worksets.

If I am reading this correct I had a similar problem.

I had a number of rooms that had a Revit "Room" applied to each area so that I could add Room tags to each area.

However, one room would not let me tag it. The reason behind it was that the one room was on a workset that had been switched off. So every time I added a room tag it would disappear - when I switched the workset back on - there were loads of tag there.

So switch on all your worksets and check to see which one the rouge room is on.
