I've seen some threads lately about making some voids for the roof fascia that is nested in a family. Can someone explain how this would work? I usually have 1x10 with crown moulding on gables and on the eaves and what I end up doing is making a double roof. One for the core thickness, then I copy it, make it thin (like 1/4"), then raise it just a tad. It's alot of work.
What would make my life easier is to have a void nested somehow with my fascia to do it all in one step. I'm not sure how to do this though because it's roof>fascia, not like a line based family. I don't know, maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree.
