Existing Ceiling Grid not Gray?

I have 3 Phases on my project: existing, demolition and New construction; I did my reflected ceiling grid on the existing phase, but when I demo some on my demolition phase the existing still shows black instead of gray as every other object I created on the existing phase, the same happens on new construction phase the existing shows black like the new ceiling so there is no graphic difference between existing and new ceiling.

Is this normal? or is there any setting I'm missing?

Yes this is normal (not good but normal) you will have to create a new ceiling type with the same model pattern with a grey color :(

yeah i think this is true for all materials. materials are not affected by phase, so a common material will show the same on items in different phases.
