Problems printing detail components

I'm having problems with my brick section detail component. I have a wall section with the brick section detail component arrayed up the wall (not grouped) to make the brick veneer. It looks fine on the screen, but when I print, it seems like every 3rd detail instance does not show the brick fill pattern. This is the standard OOTB brick section detail component, which does not have any parameters for turning the brick section fill pattern on or off. Anyone ran into this?

Have you tried using a repeating detail instead of arraying it. Perhaps you have two components on top of each other on every third course?
