Topo surface as a solid ?

I have created a topo surface within a section box. It shows up only as a surface. It only displays a "solid" cut geometry when i cut it with a section box.

how can i display a topo surface as a 3d solid with adding pads/ cutting with section boxes?

Topo surface is not a solid as such its basically a mesh.

If I understand your problem correctly, the topo surface will only display a 'thickness' if you use a shaded view with your section box active.
