When exporting to AutoCAD is there any way to select certain items, such as wall finishes and not have those items exported to AutoCAD?

I'm guessing you would have trouble splitting up families - ie wall finish from the wall itself, although you might be able to set the export settings to export all undesired elements to a certain layer in ACAD that you can then turn off?

I use a combination of layering and quick select in Auto Cad to get rid of, and to change the properties of things I need to.
It would be nice if you could this in Revit: I'm not aware of this option.

You can either use subcategories in your families to give you the ability to turn things off in a view, or filters, or worksets, or phasing. When you export a view, only the elements visible in that view are exported.
