Peter: I am a little late getting into this thread, but that dynblock is really cool. There seem to be a few bugs, though. I think this could be a super-useful tool for many architects. There appear to be a few bugs though (see attached image).

I may try to make a variation on this, maybe you have already tried it and know if it can/can't be done. How about a stair dynblock that you give a rise/run and a tread depth - then it will calculate and draw the stair section and give you a total run? That would be really useful while drawing floor lans, I would think.

Here is a variation on what you started with the stair section 3-11. It is still 3-11 treads. The height variation of risers is from 6-5/8" - 7-1/2". The tread stock is 1" thick by 11-1/2" wide, with a bullnose edge. The nosing has an 1-1/8" overhang with a classic cove molding underneath. The small dimension lines are on non printing layer, defpoints right now.

Thanks for sharing your work, and thanks for the inspiration.

Best

Craigi got that too right away, just right click, 'Reset Block', and it should work fine.... (it did for me anyway....)
btw cvaughn, Rico (max.sabre) already addressed your second paragraph in another forum, and that's where my 3-11DB came from.... Rico, care to redirect? i can't find your 'stair' thread.... :(

But the basic answer is that something like that borders (no, it actually IS) a LISP routine. The best we can do with DBs is what Chris and cvaughn came up with and modified .....

and yes, I also got it to work wonky and hitting reset block worked for me ... fixed e'erthing.

Help for the Stair LISP routine ... if you don't know how to use LISP, search either the LISP forum, or check out what CAD has to say in the HELP menu ...

I created more threads in regard to Stairs as a DB, but they seem to be gone ..... can a moderator enlighten me?
