Convert from Archicad File

does anyone know what is involved in converting an archicad file to revit format ?

I think some people tried using IFC but i doubt they had much success.

You can export a 3D DWG from ArchiCAD... Just export to DWG from the 3D window.

I'm not sure how useful this file is, once you pull it into revit. I don' t think there's a good way to pull the objects into the appropriate catagories and parameters.

Try the IFC import method.

IFCs do not convert all the Archicad parametrics to Revit parametrics, for instance, you will find that stairs and railings can be imported as a symbol, not a Revit stair, so there will be clean-up work to do.

Still, faster than a complete redraw.
