Demolish Insert with no infill?

Is there any way to demolish say a door or a window and not have it automatically filled? I can't seem to find a way. I feel like this should be somthing simple like adding a check box to inserts that are demolished which would either create an infill or not.

Any ideas?

no, you have to create an opening in the next phase to take the place of the window. and yes, it should be a checkbox. Factory, please?!
