I am looking for a method other than adding several spaces to my room names to return the second word to the next line. Please see below.

ROOM NAME

will read

ROOM
NAME

I can't seem to find any advanced text formatting.

Bottom line - there is no advanced text formatting in revit. Especially for labels.

Try adding the same label into the annotation family twice, with one longer than the other and then adding visibility parameters so that you can turn either of them on/off and have two types - one long and one short. Not ideal, but really the extent of text formatting in tags. =(

You can also shorten the Label to a point where it automatically returns after the first word. Might take some trial and error and might take a couple of Types to make it work right.

In addition to the normal tag and a condensed tag that wraps to stack the text, I also add a shared parameter to room for an abbreviation and have a tag that uses that field. This lets me easily switch between "Janitor's Closet" and J.C.

You just need to make multiple room tag families, call one narrow, one long, etc. Just stretch the text box as required.

Two ways:

Edit the room tag and make the label "narrower" by selecting and dragging the grips in so that text goes down to the next line sooner

Or in the room schedule, place your cursor after where you want the break and type Ctrl-Enter

In a schedule, you can use shift+enter and then type the 2nd line of text

Amazing, how did you find that out.

I guess it was by mistake ;-)

Note that your schedule will also display two lines of text....

Thanks! Both those are good suggestions, I will evaluate which one will best fit my project.

Shift + Enter doesn't adjust the room tag to match the schedule. Multiple Room Tags seems to be the immediate solution... thanks again.
