can you add doors in curtain walls?

Yes, but it has to be a special curtain panel. Upon insertion it will assume the shape of the opening. Make sure your opening is the door size you want.

but i cannot add curtain doors to the curtain wall, i must first change the panel to a wall and convert that to a door

no you need to "unpin" the panel and go to the selector and pick the appropreate door. no need to nest a wall in a panel to host a door

how do you "unpin"

you should be able to tab around the panel and eventually get the panel itself. once you select it you see a little pin mark in the middle. Click it and then the type selector will become active (ungrey).
