View Full Version : Slow rendering

I've been having problems with renderings taking up to an hour to regenerate. This was not a problem previously but over the last couple of days, the file size jumped from 20-something megs to 50-something after adding in 6 cars and 9 RPC people. I'm even sometimes experiencing a lag of about 2 minutes moving between views like a plan and saved 3D views.

Trees and planting didn't seem to affect rendering time too much but would people and entourage cause that type of problem? I can't imagine adding such a minimal amount of elements being the cause.

The project consists of a school site with 8 or so simple buildings so the model is not very complicated.

Using a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 with 1 GB of RAM. Have set the page file to max. 3072 MB.

Rendering settings are at "good" quality and 150 dpi.

Any help appreciated!

Are you 'capturing the renderings' and saving them in the project browser? This will cause major file bloat, and I assume it will slow things down. Export rendered images and save them in a job folder, rather than within Revit.

I noticed slowdown and huge file increases when I captured images within the project file. I just export them to where I need them.
