quick sunopsise of how i work... my engineer mail/emails me a job, i draft then send a dwf file to him for him to print... i don't have dwf so i can't "see" wot i'm printing or officially sending him. he doesn't have any version of autocad to he can't "either"... so anyway, here is the problem. i have a dwg w/ a few backgroung masks on which usually work fine, but on this dwg, it is all black when he prints it out. he sends me back a pdf of markups, so i can see that. but usually i don't see it until after he "bleeds" all over it.
i don't know if this made sence, but i need it fixed asap.

I had a similar thing happen to me when people would send me .pdf's. This seemed to work for some of them, but not all (for some reason). If you are already plotting everything in black, then this may help.
Tell him to try unchecking the box in the acrobat print dialogue that says "print all colors as black". It may not help, but it's worth trying.

hmmmm just reread what you wrote and I think I told you wrong. You can go to autodesk.com and download a dwf viewer for free. That way, you can at least "see" what you are sending him. Would that help?I also thought a dwf viewer came with autocad. It needs to be installed separately, though.

i tried that, but since i already "used" the free trial, it won't let me do it again.
but on a side note-i'm haveing a brain lapse- wot is the command to pick all text?

Do you still have your cad dvd's? It should be on there somewhere. My IT guy has mine installed through the network, but I know everytime he updates it, I have the dwf viewer on it (I'm looking at it now when I go through the autodesk file in the start menu).
I don't know the command for pick all text either!!!! Don't use it too often. :|

Window everything and select the text objects (mtext/dtext) in the properties manager.

This might help your dwf viewer dilema. I'm not sure if Design Review 2007 will read dwf files. It is also a free download. If you download it, here is the serial number to use (and why you need to use it)
As a product that was designed to be free from its inception, Autodesk Design Review 2008 will not require a serial number. Since Autodesk Design Review 2007 was originally released as a for pay product, it does require a serial number. We have provided serial number 400-96523577 for this purpose. This serial number is only necessary for install. You do not need to register Autodesk Design Review 2007 for it to operate. In fact registering it fails, since the serial number has already been registered. So please use the serial number for your installation but skip the registration step
It may be worth a try.
Just looked into it a bit further. It IS the dwf viewer, just named differently. You probably already have it.!!! :?
