Is there a way to window multiple boundaries to hatch, but keep the different hatched boundaries seperated? I want to hatch ten different closed polygons with one window, but when the polygons are hatched. I want them to be their own hatch as though I had hatched each of them manually by selecting one of them at a time.

any answers or help.. thanks

I believe if you edit the hatch, there is an option to separate hatches - check that box & they should separate. what version are you on? I know it's available on 2006.

Or you can check the box before creating the hatch - in A2006 the box is right in the middle of the dialogue.

You people(s) got me theeenkin about tool palette hatch patterns.
I do not see any way to change a setting in a tool palette that would
allow hatching multiple boundaries using an inserted hatch tool.

Am I correct?
I have to drop the hatch tool over each boundary, 1 at a time.

I have to drop the hatch tool over each boundary, 1 at a time. There has gotta be a variable for setting that. <rummages through variables list> oooh, yeah, he shoots, he scores:

HPSEPARATE System Variable

Type: Integer
Saved in: Registry
Initial value: 0

Controls whether HATCH creates a single hatch object or separate hatch objects when operating on several closed boundaries.

Just type HPSEPARATE into the Command Line and set the value to 0 or 1.

Command: HPSEPARATE
Unknown command "HPSEPARATE". Press F1 for help.

thats what i get when i type that in. I'm in Land Map 2005, do I have to be in plain autocad?
