Has anone come up with a way to tag the length of a line?
I tried using a dimension style but couldn't successfully turn the extension lines, arrows etc off.
All suggestions appreciated.

You can do this by making the line a line based family. Then use shared parameters to get the length and display in a tag. I have done this for a travel distance line in an exiting plan.

The work around you can do to achieve what you want to do is to:
create the lines as detail line based family or simple create a 2D family, not detail family
load the the line based family into another family not a line based family this time around because for some reason you cannot tag or schedule the length of a line based family.i do not know if they is something i am missing there around tagging of a line based family.
Create a shared length parameter to control the length of the nested family
now if you load the family into a project and create a schedule for the family category the length parameter you assigned to the family will be available in the schedule same applies if you are tagging the family
Just make sure that the tag RFA has a length parameter in its Labels

Yes Daniel, that's the type of thing I'm after.
Thanks for the suggestions Jeff and Nelson, I will try those later on tonight if I get a chance.
