We are about to purchase a new Xerox 6204 plotter/copier. Has anyone used this with Revit yet? This is a new line from Xerox. We will be using the copy feature a lot since we are also a construction firm and also plotting directly from Revit or pdf. We opted to get the postscript function. I havent' been able to find any info on whether or not anyone has experienced any bugs with Revit or not. Any advice would be apprectiated.

More Info on 6204: http://www.xerox.com/digital-printing/large-format-printers/large-format-printing/Xerox-6204/enus.html

Thanks.

threads been sitting for a while, I guess noone has any experience with the 6204?

How about some general comments on xerox wide format equipment? My impression is that xerox has been in the business a long time and has great equipment. They hold major contracts with caltrans, state of CA etc. all this seemed like it would be a reliable machine for wide format solutions? Comments?

I work with a company that currently has the Xerox 510dp and formerly had the XES 8825. I was able to get them both printing correctly after some tweaking with the "standard" driver, but they worked flawlessly whenever I switched to the PostScript driver. So I would say you've done very well to enable the PostScript option. I don't imagine you'll have any problems...

Let me know if you need any help - although if I remember correctly it's pretty straight-forward.

Cheers,

Solomon

Thanks a lot!! Makes me feel a little better. These machines are extremely expensive! It's a pretty big hit when you are a growing firm. But it seems to be an excellent machine, I think we'll be quite happy. The xerox wide format specialist stated that it could easily produce about 30,000SF/mo. comfortably, which is more than I need and he said the print quality is fantastic. So I'm pretty excited. It will be a big change from the constant headaches of outsourcing my printing. Thanks again.

We have the Xerox 6030, which is a plotter / copier / scanner.

Works great for high output. Xerox print driver is kind of clunky, but once you get used to it, not a problem.

The only other problem we experience, is the scanner operates from an adjacent Dell PC via a SCSI card & cable.

For some reason, in the middle of scanning a bunch of drawings to a single file (Adobe pdf or Microsoft Powerpoint) it'll crash, and if I haven't saved after scanning each sheet, it's start over from last save. Haven't figured out the problem yet...but assume it's related to the proprietory SCSI card & Dell.
