View Full Version : Add Level to one View only

I need to add a Level symbol to just one stair section view. This Level is not needed anywhere else in the project. Has anyone figured out a way to add a Level to just one view without it showing up in every other section and elevation view? I realize I can hide the Level annotation in other views, but this is a real problem on large projects which are far into CD's with well over a hundred sheets set up.

When creating a Level you have the option to make a Plan View or not but there should also be the option to show in select views. This is also a problem for Sections symbols and Elevation symbols later in a project's CD stage.

Any clever solutions or suggestions?

what i did is create a spot elevation that reads the height of a line in my elevation or section views.

Works pretty good and you can use symbols to match your level lines.

Spot Dimension tool will let you annotate a floor so it looks like a level as suggested below. or, a scope box around the stair would allow you to limit the visibility of a level to just the views that are showing the stair. I'd favor the spot dimension since you are really just trying to identify the elevation of the floor slab.

In Revit 2012 I cannot add the Spot Elevation to stairs that are being cut by the view (section or elevation). If the stair is not being cut, but seen in elevation (in either section or elevation views) the Spot Elevation can be added to the stringer. I would like to add the Spot Elevations in section because I am trying to annotate the height of stair landings in section. Has anyone else run into this? Do you know of a workaround, other than adding a detail at the height of the landings and attaching the Spot Elevations to those.
