I was wondering if anyone has come across this problem in AutoCAD 2005. I have three page setups within all my drawing, setup in my templates. Since we upgraded to AutoCAD 2005 we have some problems with our sheet sizes not plotting correctly. I descovered the problems was that sometime when the new page setup was selected it was not selecting the correct paper size. The page setup is supposed to use the standard D or E1 sizes, but instead uses the oversized paper size.

This only occurres when selecting the page setup from within the plot dialog. If I use the page setup manager first, setting the page setup current it works fine. The problem with this is it adds steps to the process.

What I intend to do is set my main full sized page setup current in all of my templates. Becuase AutoCAD does not by default save plotting settings back to the tab, I hope this will not be an issue in the future. The problem is, this is only a fix and not a solution. I am wondering if this is a bug or something?

Are you using the same templates that you had before you upgraded? Have you installed new printer drivers? Are you importing the page setups from the templates to existing dwgs? IOW are the dwgs with the problem, existing dwgs or ones that have been created from a new template?

They are templates that I used with AutoCAD 2000i with no problems. All the templates have the page setups already created within them. The drawings that had the problems are new drawings created in AutoCAD 2005 using the template files. The other drawings where created in AutoCAD 2000i and brought over to AutoCAD 2005 and have no problems. Does this answer your questions?

That would indicate that you need to update your templates. Open a template, edit the plotter configs (pc3's) so that they work, save the template. The printer that the pc3's are pointing to could be misspelled or the page setups can't find the pc3.

Did that and hopefully that will do the trick. I just thought that becuase they seemed to be using the same PC3 format that this would not be required. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the help.

I seem to be running into the same thing in rel. 2006.

However I didn't notice it till I disabled the Single Drawing Compatibility Mode.

It seem that Autocad wants to save all the plotting/plotter information in each drawing.

I am currently looking for a way to disable this feature, but may have to go back to the
Single drawing mode which Autodesk reported will drop in future releases.

I don't know what to do.
