View Full Version : way to determine layer of object in XREF?

is there a command to determine the layer of an object in an xref - possibly in express tools? currently the only way i know of is to freeze the object, read the command line, and undo the freeze.

if it makes a difference, we are using ADT 2007

xlist - I believe it is an express tool

oooooooo, I like that one better!!!!!!!!Also try it on a text object when zoomed in close, it shows you the full text without having to zoom about the place. Not sure when this command was introduced, I just tripped over it one day. :wink:

Doesn't seem to work in vanilla AutoCAD. Which vertical are you using?

Aaah ok. the INSPECT command is in ADT2006+2007 I'm not sure of other verticals or previous releases of ADT.that reminds me of an addon I used for awhile called Bubble (http://www.bubblecad.com/en/bubble.htm), that would show the properties of objects you'd hover over. it was pretty cool.
