I have a second story floor framing plan in which I have floor joists, girders etc. I like the way Revit handles the plan representation of these elements. My view is set to a structural view, so all elements show hidden lines through floors etc., which can be nice. (which by the way, Is this a setting that can be changed? How does revit tell the system to show hidden lines when the view is set to structural?)
But I would also like my bearing walls below these joists and beams to show as well, but I would like the walls to be shown with hidden lines, not the structural elements. So if I have my floor visible in the view, everything shows hidden, walls, joists, beams etc.

How do I get just my walls to show hidden and all my structural elements to show normal? I've used the linework tool in the past, but I'm hoping there is a way to manipulate this with the view range or override some settings somehow.

#2. This particular house is a split level. So I have walls outside the second story footprint on the first floor. I would prefer not to see these walls in my second floor framing plan. But if I set my view range to show to the level below or at some given offset so I can see the bearing walls within the second story footprint, then all walls show. I'm guessing my options are a plan region or the use of filters? Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Josh

I am right there with you! would love to hear how people are doing this and would be nice to show headers where the windows/doors are.

# 1 Visibility/Graphics and change the projection display of your walls (or Cut depending on View Range)
#2 Right on, Plan region or filter
