I am modifying an elevator door component to show a smoke door attached to the outside frame held open in plan view. The Flip Control to flip this component left and right automatically works about the centerline of the object width, not the width of the wall opening. Any ideas how to make this assembly operate about the wall opening centerline so it can be flipped without shifting the door off the opening centerline?

Thanks.

As far as I know, the flip controls only work to flip about the centerlines of the family. If there's a way to do what you describe, I'd love to know, also.

I've had success defining the center of the flip control by defining a reference plane and setting it to the "center" in it's properties. Works for front/back and left/right.

Have fun

Ah, that's it. In the properties of a reference plane you have the option to check the box "defines origin". Now it maintains that plane as the centerline.
Thanks.
