can the revision sequence be numbered alphanumerically?
eg. currently the numbering sequence is 1, 2,3 etc...i'm trying to change it so that it numbers...A, B , C or A1, C1, C2 etc...

quick question:
Do you use the alpha-numberic revision on a per-sheet basis, or over whole project?
i.e. each revision starts with "A" on each sheet where reivsion occurrs.

I am interested in revisions as well because our office is redefining the way revisions (and revision schedules) work in conjunction with the titleblock family. We see the Revit database as a way to track changes more efficiently. So I did a simple search in AUGI to see what is already out there on the subject. It turns out that the subject is pretty hot right now. There have been tons of posts on this subject within the last month or two. So, here's a link to my search:

People seem pretty heated about what Revisions in the titleblock don't do and there is certainly the typical "Why doesn't Revit do this?" Furthermore, The Factory knows that Revision tracking will play a very significant role in the future of integrated practice, so clearly the issue is not being ignored. Right now the revision schedule is limited in its capabilities, but the hope is that this will become another powerful source of data management. Either way, BHENG: you should check out some of these posts...
If the link throws you for a loop, just do a search for Revision and Schedule under Revit in AUGI and you will hit most of the relevant posts to help you get answers...
Good luck,
Stephen
Also: curious to hear what people say about Frame's question. In our office, we don't use any letters for revisions, and the numbers are pretty standard, starting with 1 (on a project basis).

All I want is the ability to add the revision number next to the drawing number in the bottom right of my titleblock. Having looked through lots of previous threads, there doesnt seem to be an answer to this.
Being able to choose letters for revisions as well as numbers would also be helpful.
Maybe there could be a text file where you define your standard revision sequence that Revit could read from?

You can create a shared titleblock parameter which allows you to have revision letters in your title block, which are then schedulable. However, it would be nice to link this to the revision feature somehow..

All I want is the ability to add the revision number next to the drawing number in the bottom right of my titleblock. You are correct, there is no way to do this automatically. After I create my last revision for the sheet I tag the cloud and then add a second tag which I drag to the location on the title block. It's a bit clunky but easy enough to do and after you do it a couple of times it becomes a habit after each revision.
I'd like to see the whole revision tool beefed up a little bit to allow additional parameters that we can then export or tap into through the API to allow better control and tracking of revision information. So, revision 1 is associated with RFI-234 and Change Order 567 etc.
