Varible Door Panel Size Question??

I am wondering if it is possible in a nested door family (i.e. - panels and frames are nested in to a single door family) to have a single panel family nested in to a door family and then have two instances of that panel yet each panel's width parameter act independently.

I am trying to make a double door and would like each door panel to be able to be a different width (common in hospital setting) Is there a way to do this without coping all of my door panels and renaming (i.e. - add a 2 to the end) and loading those into the door family. I am afraid that this will make my door family rather large in terms of memory size.

Also, side note what is an acceptable size for a door family in MB. My nested families are around 1 to 1.5 MB and I am worried that I may have problems with this on larger projects in the future. Can someone fill me in on the details of family size and the relationship to a projects performance?
