View Full Version : Linetype Scale (LTScale) not controlling / displaying linetypes correctly

I have a drawing that is not displaying the linetypes like it was yesterday, or from the birth of the drawing for that matter. The LTscale has not changed....the layers haven't changed...everything appears to be just like it always has been.

Basically, I have lines that should look like railroads (tracks), but instead are just continuous.

Any others experience this? If so, any suggestions?

I am using Autodesk Map 3d 2006 with Carlson survcadd.

Thanks

Brian

Do they show up correctly on a print preview? Or after a regen?

Yes in the print preview.

No after a regen.

However, after I cancelld the plot dialogue, they remained normal (appearing as they should), but then I did a regen, and they went back to continuous.

Only on the tracks lts have I seen this though.

Check that Shademode = 2dwireframe.

No twisted view

Ucs is world

Shademode is 2d

still seeing continuous lines

Is your viewpoint 0,0,1? (not quite the same thing as a twisted view but the effect can be the same).
To make sure it is correct use the Plan command.
:strange:

Used PLAN, set it to world...and still having problems.

I must have changed something, be cause it has worked since creation until today.

Still tinkering.....

OK

If I zoom in really close (WAY closer than I had to before), then a "regen" works, and the lines show up as intended.

Now, isnt there a variable to change how far zoomed out you can be before linetypes show up as continuous?

Seems like I remember something like that.

That's usually just ltscale.
How about psltscale?
:we need a "head-scratching" emoticon:

Hmmmm...

Well, I'm using a LTscale of 1500, and I need to zoom in about 1000x before it displays my tracks. /shrug

And I'm working in model space, so PSLTscale shouldnt do anything in model space

That had happened and me ,but for moment I can't remember how choiced it.
Maybe check the global factor scale for linetype .

Maybe drawing limits, agreed with :headscratching: smiley. Im stumped.

How about reloading the linetype, but reload it from acad.lin instead of acadiso.lin

As I said I've noticed this for quite a while, but it prints out okay so its never really bothered me, we use the line type tracks to resemble railings on a site plan, maybe its a graphics card thing I don't know. :(

Have not had this personally, though, so I couldn't say for sure... Good luck.

Hi

See if the following couple of threads offer any assistance / help (take note of all links found within)...

Linetypes appear to be continuous when file is Xref'd

Linetype Scale Factor - Hidden Line remains continuous

Have a good one, Mike

Nope, reloading it didnt do anything, thanks though.

If I copy and paste the entire drawing over to a new drawing, and set the LTscale to 1500, then everything appears as it should. This makes me feel like there is a drawing display setting somewhere saying that at a specific zoom point, it stops showing things normally, and to save resources, or whatever, its gonna display linetypes continuous. If that makes any sense.

**scratching eyes out**

GOT IT!!!

My arc and circle smoothness was set to 4.

I checked the setting in the new drawings (the ones that I was copying and pasteing over to) and it was set at 1000.

I changed it to 1,000 in my original drawing, and it worked.

Strange though, that the lines I was having troubles with weren't arcs or circles, they were just straight polylines.

Oh well, its working.

Thanks for everyones help.

Thanks for posting the solution. I would never have thought of that.
