Purged Families

I have a window family that has 5 different size windows types. I have only used two types in my project and purged the completed project. Now I need to add a 3rd type from the same family, but before I can do that I need to reload the family again as I have purged the project. But when I load the window family it will not load the remainder 3 types. Is there a way to load this family with all 5 types.

Open your original window family, go to its properties change the default type, apply changes then reload into project. Override parameter values of existing types.

Then your purged family types will be reloaded into the project.:)
