I created a chimney in SketchUp. Brought it into Revit and everything looks great except for in Plan view. The view is cutting thorough the building at 4'6" but I can see the top of the chimney. This is the first time I have tried importing SketchUp "components" into Revit so maybe I missed a step.
Thanks for any help.

Looks like Revit is ignoring the Setchup model when cutting.
Open the family, make the sketchup import visibility in plan view not available and replace with symbolic lines.

It does not seem to be a symbol. It is listed as:
Import Symbol: Fireplace-Chimney.skp
Do I need to import it into a family? When I try I still cannot seem to be able to change the lines to symbolic. If I try to explode, the entire thing goes away.

You made an in-place family and imported your skp file.
I suggest you create a new generic model and load it in there
Can you post the skp file ?

I did not even make an in place family, I just imported the skp file.
This forum will not allow upload of a .skp file.
I sent it to your email listed on your website.
I have to leave the office but will check tonight at home.
Thanks.

You must import the Sketchup Model to a Generic Family before loading into the model. Alternately you could import to an inplace family and it should work as well. I have never done it that way.

Whilst the forum may not allow the upload of a .skp file you could try zippng the files as it will allow .zip files for future reference...

Just load this one and see the rectangle in plan view
I uncheck the skp visibility for plan/rcp and redraw symbolic lines
