Hi,
Has anyone had any success with trying convert and Archicad 10 file to Revit 9.1 with IFC? I have looked through the posts here and at Graphisoft and all seems to say the data doesn't come across cleanly.

When I exported from Archicad 10, I ended up with an 100MB IFC file that crashes Revit on opening. Has anyone had any success? what setting to use in Archicad? or don't bother too new a format etc.

Thanks in advance. TMaple

Not to make you give up hope but...
When we transitioned to Revit, we had some projects still in ArchiCAD that we wanted to transfer over, IFC was unworkable due to size of files and the fact that it created separate files for each floor (maybe we were doing something wrong). We finally converted all of the archiCAD files to 2d autocad and re-built them in Revit.

You might want to try Solibri's free IFC optimizer to reduce the size of your IFC file before importing it into Revit:

Hope it's helpful.
