View Full Version : Room Tags in Section

Hey all,
I am having a parallel problem with room tags in section that others have mentioned in plan (I think). The tags in section show the rooms properly. We are working. "Suddenly" the room tags in section are displayed 50 to 100 feet below the building with the famous question mark. If I add the leader, the room name re-associates properly (staying down below the building). Any ideas?
I made a room schedule and checked all of the rooms. They are from the correct level to the correct level and then offset 10 feet. Could this have anything to do with it? If so, why? We have done this successfully before. The settings... for room and area... are set at system computed height. Could this make a difference? If so, why?
Any help, as always, is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stephen

I have the same issue as well. It appears that it only happens when worksets are enabled. I sent the file to support an they noted that they could not reproduce the problem. I have no had a chance to resend it, or send them a new file.
Just so you know, you are not alone.

I have run into this many times. I don't believe it has anything to do with worksets because I have had it happen on projects that do not have worksets enabled.
What I have noticed, is that it happens in section whenever I make a plan change that affects a room boundry. For example, if I remove a wall that throws two rooms into the same space. After I finish my correction and the two rooms are both within their confines again, if I go to the the sections, those room tags are out in space.
I am guessing that this is a little quirk or bug that hasn't yet been fixed. My guess is that it is related to some function of the rooms.

for me it usally happens after a reload from central.
Most of our construction drawings are done with worksets, so i guess it could happen without, i just dont have any experience without.

Interesting. So you are both pretty much suggesting that this is a bug!? This would be at least the third real bug that the same person has discovered in our office since the release of 9. That's pretty darn good (on her part)! Anyway, I would love to hear if anyone else has feedback and I will certainly let you know what happens after I talk to support (ideally sometime tomorrow). For now, the deadline is this Friday and the fix is to simply delete the crazy room tags and replace them with fresh room tags in the section. The scary thing is that one last minute wall move or save to central could entail an entire sheet (with all of the sections) to fall apart!
Thanks for your help!

We are having the same problem here too. Hopefully what you say is true...

Same problem here. Happens whenever I change a wall type, to rooms adjacent to the changed wall.
You can never be sure that things are where you left them....

I think the only solution is turn everything off in the view except roomtags, export to dwg, then link it back in.
