when printing how can i ensure which layers are on top of others so that the print shows the objects in that layer on top others when there is an overlap.
Thanks

You can use draworder to move objects in front or in back of other objects. Also check your merge control settings. You'll probably want it set to "Lines Overwrite".

Thanks for your help,
yeah the 'draworder' or 'display order' (LT 2002) from the tools menu was what i needed, just couldnt find it :s
im unsure about the merge control settings you are talking about, where do i find it?
and you say i should set it to lines overwrite, but will that mean that the lines below (ie the portion of the line that is below) is erased?
Thank you once again.
shawn.

Merge control is located in the plot or page setup dialog in the printers properties. See attached images.
There are two options Overwrite and Merge. So say you have a solid hatch that is a gray color. There is a black line underneath it. With the merge setting, the black line would show through the hatch. With the Overwrite setting, you wouldn't see the line. If the line are different colors and have it set to merge, the colors would merge creating a different color were they intersect.
