View Full Version : Revit-Wall cut pattern doesn't follow scale change!

I have chosen a cur pattern for my 2x6 wall, but the spacing of the pattern looks different in Building Plan (1"=20') and Enlarged Plan(1/4"=1'-0"), any one knows how to solve the problem?

Thanks

you should post an image to illustrate the problem

ThanksIt should look different - it is a drafting pattern.
Section cut patterns are scaled to paper - not to the model. If you are trying to show 2x4's in a wall with a hatch - It can't be done.

Wall cut patterns are draftng patterns and will aways show the same regardless of scale. So if you want to have lines spaced 12" apart at all scales you can't do it within the wall style definition. You could probably do it with graphic overrides using diferent patterns for each view scale.

Thank you for all the suggestions, here I post the problem. It's so bad that Revit 9.1 can't make it with a easy way.

HCSL, could you please explain how you did it? Thank you very much

Override of pattern doesn't exist in 9.1. Maybe in a month we'll see that. However even then it will be tedious to override each view and or object(s). Don't expect any automation here.

I typically make all material surface patterns, model patterns and all cut patterns, drafting patterns.

ThanksThis issue has always been there together with the other issue like if the wall is at an angle then wall cut pattern looks horrible for the angled portion luckily the factory managed to sort the horrible pattern issue by introducing the option "align with element" but the other issue you mentioned still remains.

You could probably get an acceptable result by rescaling the pattern into finer scale that's what I did anyway.

I like the "model patterns", which always follow the scales of the views. Revit should make "drafting pattern" the same character.

the whole point of the drafting patterns is that they don't follow the scale, if you tried to print the cmu plan you are showing with the same density of hatch pattern at 1:20 as 1:8 it would be a black blob. Drafting patterns aren't meant to be a real world size just a graphic to indicate diff. materials in plan and section.
