Unable to save the drawing... as it is being accessed by another session

Hello and thank you in advanced.

I have one machine which I cannot save files to. It has the following error message.
"Unable to save the drawing "Network Drive Letter:\ACAD DRAWINGS
1234.dwg as it is being accessed by another session. Drawing saved to Network Drive Letter:\DRAWINGS\savxxx.AC$". I can then rename the AC$ file to a dwg file and open it ok.

The files are NOT on a server but on our ACAD computer. I am able to create a text file and word file and edit and save with no issues. It is just the ACAD drawings folder I am having problems with. I tried renaming the file and creating the same folder name and coping over the ACAD files, but have the same error. If you need more info please ask, this is very troublesome for my co-worker and it has delayed some files to me modified.

I removed and set permission to FULL CONTROL. I even Re-Sync the network we are on to see if that might help. Yes I can save to another folder with no error message

Kenny J. GonzalesNow that would indicate to me that there is a problem with the permissions on the folder. You say this is not a network folder but a local folder (on the hard drive)? I quite honestly can't think of anything other than permissions that would cause this problem.

Just out of curiosity, what operating system are you using?

Kenny J. GonzalesAnother thought, can you confirm that the permissions on the folder you cannot save to are the exact same as the permissions on a folder you can save to?

I checked mine, and our IT guy has everything checked - full control, read, write, modify, etc. Maybe you need to set it like that :?
