When you plot sheets, the Ref Planes don't show on the prints. However, when you export the same sheets to CADFORMAT, they appear on the drawings. Is there a setting somewhere that you can use other than going through all the sheets.

They do go on a no-plot layer, if that helps. However, if you can see it - Revit puts it in AutoCAD.

That's exactly what I mean, but if there's a way that it does not appear on the AutoCAD drawing. I don't want to open every drawing to turn them off.

If you can't see it on the screen, it won't export to AutoCAD. Turn off reference planes in all your Revit views.

Our firm has views for documentation and views for modeling. Reference planes are off by default in out documentation views since they're not needed there.

If you want to quickly apply this, duplicate your view templates (if you have them set up) and in the duplicates turn off reference planes. Rename these view templates to blah blah blah export to CAD. Then, you can apply the Reference Plane Off view templates before exporting to CAD and then apply the Reference Plane On view templates again when you're done.

There, a couple of ways to go about it...

Thank you. I think I still have an AutoCAD point of view. It takes a while to get writhe of those BAD habits

pI reccomend 4 types of views; documentation, presentation, working, and coordination/export (dependent upon project requirements). All views should have preset template(s) for all types in all categories for all common scales, these should be included/preset in your company project template(s).

Yes - templates are something that I know I need to make more use of!
