View Full Version : Monitoring deleted elements

So,

We've got some linked structural files and want to copy-monitor the grid lines. Only, it appears as if someone already did so on a few grid lines and then deleted the grid lines. Somehow they managed to do this without deleting the monitoring of those grid lines.

As a result, when I go to Copy-monitor and select the link. I can select all the grid lines. When I click "finish" it copies some of them, but gives me 17 errors saying element already monitored. Stop monitoring selected element to copy again.

Of course, Revit's advice for removing the "monitoring" is to select the object and click the button on the options bar to stop monitoring. But, since the object has been deleted, I can't select it! So, I can't un-monitor it. So, I'm stuck.

Any help?

Thanks!

To the top!

I'm having the same problem. I copy/monitored a few Arch walls into my project then decided I didn't need them and deleted them. Now they show up in the Coordination Review as "Monitor position and size of Opening" with the options of "Do Nothing" or "Reject". I don't want to do either. I need a stop monitoring this item option. Heck I deleted the object it that shows how much I care about this object.

Thoughts? Or back to the bottom pool for me?

Thanks.

If its monitoring, but the object has been deleted, cant you go in to the CM dialogue, and restore the grip using the Modify tool?

That would restore the grids that have been deleted that are being monitored...

In my example its a wall that's being monitored that I've deleted. The problem is I can't locate it. Find by ID just doesn't turn up the archs linked wall.

Any more suggestions? I set it to Reject just to attempt to clear it out of my copy monitor list.

Im saying, instead of picking Reject, if you pick Modify doesnt the wall that was deleted come back? I know there are three choices, and i dont remember which one to pick, but i know one of the three "undoes" the difference between the models (IE, that its been deleted...)

I've attached a screen shot of the options that I have. Every once in a while (10% of the time?) I see a 3rd option "stop monitoring" I wonder why its not in there all the time?

Am I looking at the spot you are thinking of?

In the screen below. 0702_Panther_lake_Central.rvt is there file. Mine is the one below (Deleted element): id = -1

I spent all day yesterday trying to clear up the Coordination Review dialog box and get a feeling that I just wasted a day.

Thanks again for the help. I appreciate it.
