Rename block instance

Is there a quick and easy way to rename a block instance? I'd like to scale a block and give it a different name without exploding and reblocking.

How about copy the block in question, scale it, and then explode and define the new block? That's quick and easy. To simply rename a block, use the RENAME command.

If you do that (rename the block using the rename command) it will rename all instances of that block. If you truly want each block instance to have it's own name, I think you may have to explode and redefine.
