Ok I have spent way to much time on this and need some help. I am trying to create a .pat file for clay tile roof (see cad example). All I want is the vertical lines. It has a line then 3.5" then another line and is repeated at 11.5" intervals. I tried to use Hatchkit to create it but I just can't get it to scale right in Revit. I don't know what I am doing wrong and can't look at it any longer or I will blow a gasket. Can anyone help? It would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jennifer,

This thread (http://forums.augi.com/showthread.php?t=2476&highlight=pat+file+scale) may help avoid a blown gasket...

Jennifer,

try this pattern (it's in the attached file):

;%VERSION=3.0
;%UNITS=INCH
*CLAYTILEVERT
;%TYPE=MODEL
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; Pattern written by HatchKit v2.6 Hatch Pattern Editor

;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
90,3.5,0,0,11.5
90,0,0,0,11.5

You have shown up a problem in HatchKit that occurs in patterns made only with vertical unbroken lines. We wil fix this in the next release.

Hope this helps.

Hugh thanks so much! That worked! My headache is gone! I was trying to create that PAT file (one we have needed for forever) so I could show my boss we needed to purchase HatchKit! Hey since I found a glitch, as my prize, can I get a copy? :)

Thanks again!

I had it figured out last night, but kept getting an error. I needed to hit enter a couple of times after the second line of numbers. I'll never forget that again.
