Isometric 3D Views Do Not Hold Their Position

Does anyone know why this is? That is, I copy the original {3D} view, call the copy somehting like Aerial Front-Left. Do a bunch more, calling them similar names. Then, within the design session, after I come back to the views, one or more of renamed copies have reverted back to earlier views before I copied, re-oriented and renamed.

In the Dynamic View expanded dialogue box you have the option to Save View.

Well, I'll be d*mned. Never, ever noticed that little button. That must be the only view type that requires that.
