View Full Version : Octgagonal Shaped Roof

Hi all,
I am working on the design of a large Catholic church. One of the small one story roofs in front has an octogonal roof. It seemed to me the only way to proceed was to make sloping reference planes for each segment of the octagon, and to draw the framing on each of those planes.
I have two of these octagonal shaped roofs symmetrical on each side of the building. Trouble is I want to copy this first one, (or better yet mirror it over to the other side), and yet I cannot seem to do either, due to its contraints.
I've had this problem with many roof segments that use a reference level, i.e. no ability to mirror the elements.
Am I approaching this wrong, or is it a Revit limitation? Would you approach this differently?

Thanks and have a great day.

Delete the ref. planes and this will disassociate the object from the planes. It should then mirror...
