Here's a diddly-eye-joe-to-damned-if-I-know for ya.

I had been creating DWF's using the default DWF6 eplot.pc3 file for the longest time. With the introduction of Design Review I had been scratching my head about the distance command. Why wasn't it giving me an accurate dimension every time? And why was I getting a different distance every time I made a DWF of the same drawing file?

So I took my questions to the God's on high at Autodesk and they actually scratched their heads for a couple of days about it. Finally I heard back from them and this is the result.

If you open the DWF6 eplot.pc3 file, go to the Device and Document Settings tab. Scroll down and click on the Custom Properties section and then double click on the Custom Properties Dialog box button to access the information. In the upper right hand corner of the dialog box you'll see Custom vector resolution: and it's by default set to 400dpi. Autodesk suggested that I bump it up to 30000dpi. I kind of did an aye-aye-aye like one of the Three-Stooges, but I did it anyway.

As a result, my DWF's are now scale-able and good to use by anybody for anything.

I must confess though, the file size did triple. So I bumped it down a little to 10000dpi and still got good results.

Just a tip I thought I might try sharing with you all.
Enjoy.

Life might happen when you are busy making other plans, but there is some information on this topic that has been available for years.
