I have some sort of running osnap in acad that I can not find the option to turn it off.
It is new to me, we just upgraded from 2006 and I did not see this.
I have attached a image showing what looks like a intersection osnap, but it is something else.
Has anybody else found a way to turn this off?
It does nothing and is just an annoyance.

Command: pdmode, enter, 0, enter
I am pretty certain pdmode is the cause.
Changing it to zero will leave a dot instead of a big X if you set pdmode to one (1) the points will be invisible.

You can also use the pdsize variable to make the X smaller and less intrusive if you decide you still want the X to show up.

I tried the pdmode and it was set to 0.
What else do you think that I should try?

Try turning off BLIPMODE.

Blipmode is turned off.
Any other suggestions?

We can't suggest much else without having the actual file.

Those look like points, hence the pdmode suggestion. Can you select them and list them?

It doesn't look like a blip, a point or an osnap. Can you select it?

It almost looks like the Parallel Object Snap with the two very faint lines going through the grey Hidden (vertical) Line, just above the yellow Continuous (horizontal) Line.

Have a good one, Mike

I can not select them.
When I regen they stay on the screen, Also when I zoom out a little and regen they move to a different location, and them when I zoom out further they go back to original location.

The fact that they move, then move back could point to a graphics card/display driver problem.
Is this only on one pc? Do you have access to another pc?

it only happens on my computer.
The other computer with Acad on it does not have the same problem.

I'd definitely look into the graphics card/display driver then. :-(

Are your crosshairs rotated? If so, it looks like those are "remnants" of your crosshairs and I too would definitely guess video card/driver issues.

After doing some more digging, I have found out that they are "Autosnap Markers".
But I am unable to snap to them, they just hang around doing nothing.

I'd be willing to bet they are "ghost" images of your osnap markers being left behind. It's been my experience that these are usually related to some sort of display/video card/driver issues. Do they disappear when you regen?

I think that you are correct. I have turned off running intersection osnap and they do not appear anymore. and yes they went away after a regen, most of the time. I think that the IT guy needs to look at my video card.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Check in your windows Display settings. If you have hardware acceleration enabled, try disabling it and see what happens.

OK, I have a new video card installed and I have tried hardware acceleration.
They are still there.
I am just running without intersection osnap.
(You do not know how much you use something until you do not have it. )
I will keep running until ACAD comes out with an repair patch or something.
Thanks for everyone's help.

I did not have a new video card installed Tuesday   .
The It guy came and installed one today.
I will let everyone know what happens.

I have used Acad for 2 days and I am still getting it on my screen.
Should I contact Autodesk and see what they say?
And how/what should I tell them?
