We upgraded a project to 2008 in which we had several filled regions of varying gray shades marking out certain areas of the finish plan. We opened the upgraded file to find that all the gray shades were suddenly the same even though the color set in the family properties of the region were varied.
After some investigation, it turns out that the projection surface pattern for detail items was over-ridden to a medium gray in visibility and graphics for the finish plans. Once we cleared that override it displayed correctly...
