I have been trying to create a cylindrical pile cap c/w pre-cast concrete hex pile family.
I created a family of piles, 400mm (16"), 350mm (14") and 300mm (12") which were loaded into the host family, a 600mm (24") diameter x 600mm deep pile cap.
I am able to change the piles in cap drawing, however as soon as I load it into a project I am unable to change the pile size .
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, attached is my attempt.

I had a quick play with your family, see attached AVI. The one step that was missing in your approach was to attach the pile (Family Type Parameter) to the pile geometry itself. Once this is done the pile will flex correctly in the family editor.
Hopefully I am missing a step after this point otherwise it appears that there is a bug with this approach. Once the family is loaded into the project changing the pile instance parameter does not flex the geometry correctly. The geometry always seems to be one selection behind. Similar behaviour is exhibited with the delivered content as well (Pile Cap-Rectangular w Piles.rfa for example).
Prior to testing your family I have not used this approach myself so it is quite possible I am still missing something. For my purpose I have opted for multiple family types with visibility toggles controlling the geometries display . . . definitely not as elegant this approach would be but it does work. Can anyone else shed some light on this one?

Thank you Paul
I thought it would be faster to have the cap and pile family together, however I believe it will be less aggravating to load them separately.
thanks for your help.
