Is there a way to tag the area of a Filled Region?
Thanks!

great question and this would be very helpful, but unfortunatly it doesn't look like you can. Filled regions dont appear as families and therefore they dont seem to be able to get or extract parameters. even a schedule would be nice, but so far (in 9.1 at least) you can't.

I don't know what ultimate end you are trying to achieve, so this may be utterly irrelevant: You might find that a color fill on some rooms or areas does the trick for you? Then you could report areas and "color in" the region you are describing?
Good Idea, but colour fills only work in plan. The whole region fill area business was to circumvent Revit's inability to get the area of soemthing (anything!) in an elevation view.

Thanks for the responses. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed the tag somewhere.
It would be great to be able to make better use of the data already embedded in the elements.

Funny enough, I just went looking for an answer to this question, and found my own thread - I had forgotten I had asked this before.
I guess you still can't.

If its rectilinear, you can use a line based family that you can then tag. Make a Shared parameter LENGTH = Length, and give it a Height parameter as well. Give it an Area parameter (shared) and one formula, and make a tag and youre all set.
We use this for scheduling Signage Square footages on retail facilities all the time...

It's not rectilinear (and rarely is when I need it), so that won't work for me, but interesting tip none the less. Thanks for sharing.

A filled region area tag would allow me to begin to gather orthogonal and non-orthogonal areas in a non-planar view (i.e. elevation, section). Scheduling filled regions would allow me to generate internal area take-offs for families. Unless someone can recommend a better solution, scheduling the areas of my families as a shared parameter would be extremely useful for myself and hopefully others.
