A Pline (polyline) is a series of line and/or arc segments that are joined at their endpoints to from one entity.

Or if you want Autodesk's description check the Help. This is from the AutoCAD User's Guide glossary:

polyline
An object composed of one or more connected line segments or circular arcs treated as a single object. Also called pline.
