Is there an easy way to find the mid point between two points?

For those that still use that 'other' Autodesk Cad package, mid between two points is on the right click menu and I find it massively handy.

Although Revit has the pick option when mirroring that finds the middle of an object (really nice feature) is there a way of doing this with the draw option.

Currently I am drawing a line between the two points, then snapping to the mid point to draw the mirror line.

Any comments?

Thanks,
Rob

Is your question in regards to mirroring by a line, instead of picking a line that already exist? when you have two points? or two endpoints of a line?

If two endpoints of a line, then: When you select your object(s) and click on mirror...look at the option bar... do you see the other option? You can either pick or draw...so when you select draw, you click on the midppoint of the 2 endpoints (SM is shortcut for Snap Midpoint) and then draw a line which is your mirror line...

If you meant 2 seperate points not on a line...then..hmm...sorry for wasting your time reading my post

Isn't it amazing how when you phrase a question you think it is very clear and then when you watch someone answer it you realize the question is very poorly put.

Thanks for making the effort to decypher it.

I was referring to two separate points not on a line.

I am still guilty of not looking at the options bar form time to time and was hoping someone was going to point me to something really obvious. I think I am out of luck this time around.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

You should put it in the wishlist.

It doesnt exist. You have to draw a line first. :banghead:

PS. And what ever you do, don't use the name of the software that has the midpoint between two points. Somehow when that happens the discussion goes in a completely different direction than you want it to.

that is probably the biggest thing that i miss coming from ADT. mid between 2 points was about the best command added to acad in a long time (although a lisp program could do the same thing).

This thread has reached a considerable age. Is this functionality implemented yet?
