I do a lot of space planning and programming for schools. To simplify this task, I've created kind of a typical space list in an Area Styles Schedule. I have added parameters for desired room sizes, program areas, etc. Works pretty well, and I can put it in a template, or paste into a new drawing.

When working on programming, I'll often create an Area Schedule and add spaces before anything is drawn. The area for these spaces will show as "Not Placed", and this is fine. My problem is that for some reason, you can't edit the Area Style from within an Area Schedule. You can only seem to change the Area Style in the element properties dialog. Which means you have to go through the exercise of inserting an area into an area plan, open the properties dialog, change the Area Style, close the dialog, and then go back to the schedule. Not exactly handy, and I don't understand why this is necessary. It seems like when you click in an Area Style cell in the schedule, you should get a drop down of the available styles, choose one, and all that information from the style would fill in on the schedule. Much quicker, and easier to keep things consistent.

I realize this probably doesn't affect an awful lot of users, but it's another one of the inconsistencies in Revit that drive me nuts. Should be really slick, but doesn't quite work like it should. How hard would it be to fix this?
